Service of Remembrance
"A Time For Angels"
Our service to families is best reflected during our annual Service of Remembrance, held prior to the holiday season for the families we have served during the year, as well as others in the community who have been bereaved. Our staff assists local clergy in imparting a message of hope and inspiration to hundreds of people, An angel ornament is presented to each family in honor of their departed loved one. We are especially proud of the heart-warming response we have received to this special memorial observance.
In 1998, the staff of Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services realized the need for a community service of remembrance to be held during the holiday season. The first program was held at First Presbyterian Church and approximately 90 people attended. Today, the service attendance has grown to over 400 people annually, and it is attended by families of all faiths and backgrounds. Anyone who has experienced a loss, whether they were served by our firm or others, is welcomed and encouraged to attend. Families look to us as community leaders in funeral services. We are pleased to provide an opportunity to gather together, to share a common grief and to find hope and healing during this difficult time of year. We are honored to provide this service to you, and we pray it will bring the comfort you seek.
